Range and Identity
Catostomus tsiltcoosensis is retained as the inventory identity. The checked account places it in coastal Oregon from the Siuslaw toward the Sixes systems. This is not a range across all western sucker waters, and similarly named inland fishes should retain their separate identities.
Habitat and Behavior
The species has been observed in large schools following tidal movement and entering brackish reaches. Streams and lakes are also represented. These records show varied habitat use without establishing that every population must follow the same route between fresh and brackish water.
Food and Life History
The small 4.4-centimeter standard-length record is a specimen reference, not a credible resolved adult maximum. It excludes the caudal fin. Spawning over gravel and cobble is reported, while an independent maximum weight and detailed feeding list remain unestablished in the checked material.
Field Note
Retain the source specimen and measurement convention with size data. A small collected fish should not be mistaken for the largest size reached by an adult population.
