Cyprinella gibbsi is recorded from the Tallapoosa drainage, with a single Chattahoochee record in Alabama noted in the compilation. That isolated occurrence should remain distinguishable from the main range. It is not evidence that the entire neighboring system is uniformly occupied.
Habitat and Behavior
Adults are found in sandy and rocky runs of small to medium rivers. Flowing pools are used less often. The presence of current matters even when a collection site is described as a pool rather than a riffle or run.

The upper reference is 9.5 centimeters total length. The checked summary does not establish an independent maximum mass, detailed feeding list or definite migration pattern. Those features are not supplied from the life history of another shiner with a similar appearance.
