Sicydium macrostetholepis is recorded from the Philippines, Indonesia and Ryukyu context, with some additional island reports qualified in the compilation. Tentative locality records should retain their uncertainty rather than becoming a confirmed continuous distribution across the western Pacific.

The short account provides limited detailed ecology. A precise current preference, substrate requirement or climbing height was not established in the material checked. Those facts should not be supplied from another amphidromous goby merely because the retained common name includes rockclimbing.

The upper reference is 10.3 centimeters total length. An independent maximum mass, complete food list and species-specific reproductive sequence remain unestablished here. A juvenile or related goby's behavior would not by itself resolve those gaps for this exact identity.
