Range and Identity
Redigobius roemeri is recorded from regions including the Andaman Islands, Philippines, Indonesia, Palau and New Guinea. Some peripheral island reports remain uncertain in the source. Those should not be treated as equally confirmed parts of the range.
Habitat and Behavior
Many collections come from swift streams near cascades or waterfalls over rock, boulders or gravel. Other records involve mud, sand or mangrove habitat. This variation shows why the actual site description is more useful than a single generalized stream label.
Food and Life History
The upper reference is 4.5 centimeters standard length. Dark cheek bands and a blotch on the first dorsal fin contribute to identification. Insect remains were found in one examined Palau specimen, but one gut sample is not treated as a complete species-wide diet.
