Range and Identity
The catalog recognizes Liparis greeni in North Pacific waters, including the Commander, Aleutian and Pribilof islands, the Bering region and south toward Washington. Older records under Polypera greeni can concern the same fish. A genus change alone does not imply a newly introduced population.
Habitat and Behavior
Tide pools and shallow coastal habitat are recorded settings. These observations differ from the very deep habitat associated with some other snailfishes. A broad family reputation should not replace species-level locality and depth information when describing where Lobefin Snailfish has actually been found.
Food and Life History
The upper reference is thirty-one centimeters total length. A maximum mass and detailed diet are not established in the retrieved account. Reproductive behavior from another snailfish is not substituted for direct evidence, particularly when species in the family occupy very different marine environments.
