Mud Lake is a lake on the Taylor County map with the current inventory showing about 8 acres and a maximum depth of 21 feet, which gives you a much better starting point than trying to read too much into a satellite view.

I would not try to turn the first trip into a science project and I would build the day around the best bank cover, any obvious weeds, and the deepest water I can reach because the easiest way to waste a day is to keep moving without learning anything.
The current species list
Right now, the inventory connects Mud Lake with Black Crappie, Bluegill, Northern Pike, Pumpkinseed, and Yellow Perch; which gives me something real to work with around weeds and easy cover for panfish and weed lines and baitfish areas for pike or musky, and use the first few bites to narrow the plan.
How I would learn the lake
Going into a first day on Mud Lake, I would start with obvious fish-holding water and let actual bites tell me whether to stay or move, then I would verify any special water rules before deciding what can go in the cooler.
