Brooks Lake is a lake on the Marinette County map and the best numbers we have right now are about 3 acres and a maximum depth of 9 feet, so there is no need to dress the lake up with a bunch of made-up detail.

I would not try to turn the first trip into a science project with a short rotation through the best bank cover, any obvious weeds, and the deepest water I can reach before making the day harder than it needs to be.
The current species list
Right now, the inventory connects Brooks Lake with Black Crappie, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, and Yellow Perch; so I would pack with weeds and easy cover for panfish, and keep the day practical and easy to change.
How I would learn the lake
Going into a first day on Brooks Lake, I would choose a few spots that look different from one another and give each one a fair chance, then I would check the current Wisconsin rules before the first cast.
