Benz Lake

This Oconto County water is Benz Lake, a lake and the basic lake data comes in at about 11 acres and a maximum depth of 8 feet, and those numbers are a useful reality check before you start making a fishing plan.

Start with the basics

I would make the first trip about learning the water, not conquering it and I would begin around the best bank cover, any obvious weeds, and the deepest water I can reach and I would take a couple of bites in one type of water over a dozen pretty spots with no life.

What you can fish for

At the moment, Benz Lake does not have enough species data for a trustworthy fishing list; i would not let a statewide species list stand in for actual evidence from this water, and and let current conditions sort out the details.

Keeping the first trip simple

If a buddy asked me how to start on Benz Lake, I would start with a simple plan and only add complexity if the fish make me, and I would not rely on an old screenshot or somebody's memory for current limits.
