Strayhorn Pond

In Orange County, Strayhorn Pond is listed as a reservoir; my opening stop would be one sheltered piece of water, and I would stay with it until I find a repeatable bite in the first area. The first trip does not have to solve everything, so I would keep fishing one straightforward section of bank until I find a repeatable bite in the first adjustment before I add more distance or tackle.

Strayhorn Pond Size, Maximum Depth and Volume

Exact size and depth measurements are sparse for Strayhorn Pond, so I would leave the figures unstated until a dependable agency source confirms the number and use one promising section of bank until I see a pattern develop in the first few casts.

Fishing This Water

Species information for Strayhorn Pond is limited, so I would use one light rod with a jig, worm, and float around one easy-to-read shoreline stretch and wait to specialize until I see a pattern develop in the nearby water. I would choose one bait style that fits the target on Strayhorn Pond, work it around one manageable shoreline stretch, and keep it there until I see a pattern develop in the first hour.

A Practical Strayhorn Pond Game Plan

For a first trip to Strayhorn Pond, I would fish one nearby shoreline stretch long enough to judge the plan, then change one variable at a time after I get a useful answer from the first setup. After I get a useful answer from the first adjustment, I would give one sheltered section of water more time on Strayhorn Pond instead of immediately looking elsewhere. Once I get a useful clue from the first few casts, I would remember what worked around one straightforward section of water and begin the next trip to Strayhorn Pond with that same clue.
