Malpais Tank

The 0.3-acre Malpais Tank in Grant County is a reservoir in New Mexico and covers about 0.3 acres, reaches about 2 feet at its deepest point and holds roughly 0.4 acre-feet.

On a water as light as Malpais Tank, one weed edge or deeper pocket can hold much of the day’s activity. With little deep water in Malpais Tank, weeds, wind, and water color can matter more than depth alone.
