Carrol Lake is a reservoir in Mississippi, near Stone County.
This Stone County water is recorded as Carrol Lake, a reservoir, and I would spend the opening part of the trip around one short shoreline stretch to get a feel for the first pattern before committing the rest of the day. I would give one nearby shoreline stretch enough time to tell me whether the opening plan deserves more attention, because a productive idea deserves enough time to prove itself.
Surface area, maximum depth, and storage are not well documented for Carrol Lake, so the better first step is to watch what the first hour actually shows me and leave unsupported measurements out of the trip. Until I know the size of Carrol Lake better, I would work one manageable section of water while keeping the first-day plan easy to adjust.
The fishery at Carrol Lake is lightly documented, so I would use one versatile setup carrying a few small artificials and a bottom rig and make the second trip more specific after I know what is there. The first fish from Carrol Lake can narrow the plan as I read the first adjustment before adding another completely different presentation.
I would approach Carrol Lake by choosing one straightforward starting zone, one target, and a small tackle selection, then switch the first weak link in the approach so I can tell which adjustment actually helped. If one sheltered starting zone becomes the first reliable area on Carrol Lake, I would stop searching randomly and fish it properly, which makes the next trip easier before I even launch.
