Joy Lake is a reservoir in Georgia, near Clayton County.
In Clayton County, Joy Lake is listed as a reservoir; my opening stop would be one nearby piece of water, and I would stay with it until I find a repeatable bite in the first hour. The first trip does not have to solve everything, so I would keep fishing one short section of bank until I see a pattern develop in the first area before I add more distance or tackle.
Exact size and depth measurements are sparse for Joy Lake, so I would leave the figures unstated until a dependable agency source confirms the number and use one sheltered section of bank until I see a pattern develop in the first adjustment.
Species information for Joy Lake is limited, so I would use one light rod with a jig, worm, and float around one straightforward shoreline stretch and wait to specialize until I get a useful answer from the first few casts. I would choose one bait style that fits the target on Joy Lake, work it around one promising shoreline stretch, and keep it there until I get a useful answer from the nearby water.
For a first trip to Joy Lake, I would fish one easy-to-read shoreline stretch long enough to judge the plan, then change one variable at a time after I get a useful answer from the first hour. After I get a useful clue from the first setup, I would give one nearby section of water more time on Joy Lake instead of immediately looking elsewhere. Once I get a useful clue from the first adjustment, I would remember what worked around one short section of water and begin the next trip to Joy Lake with that same clue.
