Cole Lake is a reservoir in Georgia, near Macon County.
In Macon County, Cole Lake is listed as a reservoir; my opening stop would be one manageable section of water, and I would stay with it until I get a clear read from the first area. The first trip does not have to solve everything, so I would keep fishing one nearby part of the lake until I get a clear read from the first adjustment before I add more distance or tackle.
Exact size and depth measurements are sparse for Cole Lake, so I would leave the figures unstated until an official reservoir report documents the value and use one short part of the lake until I get a clear read from the first hour.
Species information for Cole Lake is limited, so I would use a light spinning setup with a soft plastic and live-bait option around one sheltered starting zone and wait to specialize until I learn something from the first setup. I would choose one bait style that fits the target on Cole Lake, work it around one straightforward starting zone, and keep it there until I learn something from the opening stretch.
For a first trip to Cole Lake, I would fish one promising starting zone long enough to judge the plan, then fix the first weak link in the approach after I find a repeatable bite in the first area. After I find a repeatable bite in the first adjustment, I would give one easy-to-read area near the launch more time on Cole Lake instead of immediately looking elsewhere. Once I see a pattern develop in the first few casts, I would remember what worked around one manageable area near the launch and begin the next trip to Cole Lake with that same clue.
