Wash Pond is a lake in Florida, near Washington County.
Wash Pond is a lake in Washington County, and on a first trip I would start around one short area near the launch and stay there until I get a clear read from the first hour. I would keep the opening plan simple around one sheltered piece of water and leave it alone until I learn something from the first setup.
A dependable standalone set of acreage, depth, and volume figures is not readily available for Wash Pond, so I would not guess at them until a current management document publishes a figure and would work one straightforward piece of water until I learn something from the opening stretch.
The fishery at Wash Pond is lightly documented, so I would use a small tackle bag with a few soft plastics and live bait around one promising section of bank and let the first trip stay broad until I find a repeatable bite in the first area. The best first setup on Wash Pond is a simple one around one easy-to-read section of bank, and I would leave it alone until I find a repeatable bite in the first adjustment.
I would approach Wash Pond by choosing one manageable shoreline stretch, one target, and a small tackle selection, then change one variable at a time after I see a pattern develop in the first few casts. If I see a pattern develop in the nearby water, I would stop searching randomly and fish one nearby shoreline stretch properly on Wash Pond. If I see a pattern develop in the opening stretch, I would make a note of what happened around one short shoreline stretch and use that as the starting point the next time I fish Wash Pond.
