Names and Identity
This entry retains the historical Collybus drachme name while explaining its connection to Brama orcini. It does not represent an additional living pomfret species alongside Bigtooth Pomfret. Older labels and modern fish accounts may therefore refer to the same taxon.
Identification
The body is deep and strongly compressed from side to side. The lateral line is complete, and adult scales lack projecting spines. The long dorsal and anal fins contain soft rays rather than true fin spines. These structural features are more informative than a silvery color shared with many ocean fishes.
Range and Size
The fish occurs in tropical Indo-Pacific waters and is often recorded near land masses. The maximum of 42 centimeters includes the tail. Its published weight is retained separately, without assuming that the longest and heaviest reported fish were the same individual.

An old Collybus drachme label and a modern Brama orcini account can describe the same species. Keep the original label when documenting historical material.
